Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Players Golf iPhone app ("Players Golf", "the app", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms. If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies; where these terms are more restrictive, these terms apply.
1. Who can use Players Golf
You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. You may only create an account for yourself, and the information you provide must be accurate.
2. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you create in the app — rounds, posts, photos, messages and game listings. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and transmit that content as needed to operate the app (for example, showing your posts in the feed or your scores to players in a shared round). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for residual backup copies and content other users have legitimately interacted with (such as messages you sent them).
3. Community rules — zero tolerance for abuse
Players Golf is a community. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You must not:
- post or send content that is harassing, threatening, hateful, defamatory, obscene, or discriminatory;
- impersonate any person, spam other users, or post misleading content;
- use the app for anything unlawful, or attempt to access other users' data, probe, or disrupt the service.
The app provides tools to report any content or user and to block any user. We review reports promptly and will remove offending content and suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules — including immediately removing users who post objectionable content.
4. Players Premium subscriptions
- Players Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly) that unlocks premium features such as plays-like distances and club recommendations, per-club statistics, green reading, and advanced stats.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy. Where offered, a free trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under their terms; you can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Premium features and pricing may change; we will not reduce what an active, already-paid subscription period includes without notice.
5. Golf data, handicaps and GPS — accuracy disclaimer
- Handicap. The handicap index calculated by Players Golf follows World Handicap System methodology but is not an official handicap. It is not issued by a recognised golf authority and must not be used where an official handicap index is required.
- GPS and yardages. Distances, course maps, tee positions and hazard locations are estimates based on third-party course data and your device's GPS, and may be inaccurate or out of date. Always confirm distances with on-course markers where it matters.
- Green reading and plays-like. Green contours are synthetic estimates, and plays-like distances are weather-based approximations. They are aids, not measurements.
- On-course safety. Stay aware of your surroundings while using the app on a golf course. We are not responsible for accidents or injuries arising from use of the app while playing.
- Please follow the rules of the course you are playing and any competition you are playing in, including any restrictions on distance-measuring or green-reading devices.
6. Acceptable use of the service
You must not scrape, bulk-export, resell or redistribute course data, user data, or any other content from the app; reverse engineer the app except as permitted by law; or use the app to build a competing dataset or service.
7. Termination
You can stop using Players Golf at any time and delete your account in the app (Profile → Account → Delete Account). We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 2, 5, 8 and 9) survive.
8. Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of data. We do not guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost — keep your own records of anything important.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app evolves. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date and notify you in the app of significant changes. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales — except that if you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the protection of mandatory consumer rules of, and may bring proceedings in, your home country.
